Hindman Family Folk Week!

I have been wanting to teach at this camp tucked away in the hills of Knott County, Kentucky for at least 20 years, and at last I will have my chance. I'll be teaching old-time guitar and a bit of flatfooting and clogging, and am sooo excited to spend time with so many amazing people that I love (and the new friends I have yet to meet!) If you want a relaxing yet inspiring getaway, please consider joining me and the rest of the lovely souls who'll be passing time singing, making music, porch-sitting, and generally taking a break from the crazy lives we all lead! Hi Carla - I am an old friend of Mark Pistrang who introduced me to Zoe Speaks many years ago. I have lived in Mexico for 20 years and also have ties to Eastern KY through my husband Fred. Tonight we were at your show at the Hindman Settlement School and really enjoyed your show. I really thought that you must be from Zoe Speaks from your story and voice. We wanted to meet you afterwards but could not find you. We did leave money and a note for a CD. Thank you! Looking at your website I'm reading about the Casa de la Cultura and Cornbread and Tortillas fundraiser. I'm just loving these connections! In fact, we were taking video of the cloggers tonight so we could show our friends in Patzcuaro who teach "zapateando" so they could see the similarities. Anyway - we're still in Hindman through Thursday. I realize your busy with Folk Week, but it would be great to meet you if you have any time. Thanks again for your wonderful singing. I'd love to know that song you debuted tonight - Wings of a Dove. Hope to have the chance to meet this week! Take care, Meg
